Meet the Founders
We started to experiment lavender cultivation back in 2010.
We switched from office work to agriculture innovation where we
rediscovered ourselves and our connection with
surrounding natural environment.
Spending impressive amounts of time, effort and money
in research, the results showed up fast and we are now
managing three closely linked projects: Mayie Farm Network,
Mayie Raw Material Processing and Mayie Cosmetics.
Our passion and unique touch are present in each Mayie product.
- Irina and Tudor Panait, Mayie founders
We believe in the fact that our bodies and our skin adapted to what nature has provided us with for the last few thousands of years. Since not all natural ingredients are beneficial to our skin, our research has a holistic approach where we take into account the historical use of plants, the extraction methods, the clinical results and the long-term skin sensitization risk. We are proud to grade our ingredients as natural and biocompatible.
Research is the most precious ongoing activity in our lab where everyone in our company is involved. We are curious minds, always looking for new extraction methods, new ingredients, new delivery systems and new formulations by leveraging cutting edge technology. Our goal is a healthy, ageless and natural looking skin.
Whether it's Mayie Proprietary Farms or Mayie Network Farms, our agriculture and wild-harvest technology is fully organic, no chemicals and no overexploitation. We leverage our patented technology across all our farms, which places us a step ahead of international organic regulations. We are proud to know that our great-grandchildren will be able to cultivate our present land, unadulterated and as healthy as it is now.
We respect nature and we respect the integrity of all animal species. Our lab testing technology allows us to avoid any type of animal testing and we obtain the best results. Moreover, we discourage the use of any animal exploitation during agricultural activities across Mayie Farm Network.
This is How We Started
Irina's and Tudor's very first attempt at lavender cultivation
The very first lavender row they planted by themselves, all manual. Everything started near a natural reserve in Romanian's famous Wild Carpathia.
Surrounded by mud volcanoes, mineral water springs and wildlife, the future Mayie Proprietary Farm started to develop.
The first blooming lavender field
These years represented the beginning of Tudor's advanced research on natural extracts technology. Essential oil extraction, natural hydrosol extraction and enhancement, cold pressed oil and micro plant particles extraction occupies significant time in Tudor's daily job nowadays too.
From small to large scale
After a couple of years of small scale natural ingredients extraction and lots of lessons learned, the first step was made towards an industrial scale distillery. This is the first year we started to gather raw material from the farm network we started to build in the previous years, nowadays called Mayie Farm Network.
All processed materials were sold as bulk, including our Lavender Essential Oil.
First cosmetic formulations
First basic cosmetic formulations were introduced into Romanian natural cosmetics market and great feedback gathered from customers. At that moment, the unique extraction method of Mayie ingredients was the main disrupting factor on the market.
Given the success of our ingredients themselves, we keep on researching in the extraction field as this is one of our differentiating factors on the market today too.
Our current Sensitive Skin Toner is one of the first formulations created at this moment.
Advanced cosmetic formulations
The previous years spent on research for innovative 100% natural formulations started to yield great results. Mayie's first advanced anti-aging serum, Melissa Youth, was launched.
